Venus Transit Sunrise

I took the photo in the early morning on June 6th 2012. It shows the rising sun with earth's sister Venus (which is not really healthy to live on) passing by.
The sun looks a bit blurred but I assume this is caused by the atmosphere. I also made photos when the sun was already risen and it looked better. But the idea behind this photo was to clearly show the rising sun with a small piece of landscape hiding it.

I had the chance to see two Venus transits in my lifetime and I was lucky enough to see both of them. In 2004 I did not have a camera but it was a beautiful sunny summer day and I can remember what I was doing that day.

Today, 20 minutes after this photo taken the whole sky was covered by clouds. Lucky me.
